Treatment Techniques

Patient Evaluation

Our practitioners are all Doctors of Physical Therapy specializing in treatment of injured: joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. Our process involves treatment 1x per week followed by a comprehensive injury prevention plan to keep you performing at the highest level. A monthly / bimonthly Maintenance Program is available following Evaluation.

Active Release Technique

ART® is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.

Trigger Point Dry Needling

Trigger point dry needling is a highly skilled evidence based technique which uses a solid filament needle to reduce highly irritable spots within a muscle belly that are related to dysfunction and poor performance. This technique has at time been described as an "internal massage" for tight muscles. Instead of undergoing the painful massage techniques frequently used to relieve muscle tension and work out "knots", TPDN is a safe and highly effective alternative to reduce muscle tension by targeting these high irritable spots that can be diagnosed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

RockPods (Cupping)

Myofascial decompression is a form of deep tissue mobilization which involves the use of an instrument to change the pressure gradient within a cup. This change in pressure causes a decompression of the fascia and underlying musculature allowing for an increase in tissue mobility.

Functional Movement Screening

The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a pre-participation screening tool designed to identify compensatory movement patterns that are indicative of increased injury risk and inefficient movement that causes reduced performance.

Highly effective myofascial kinesiology taping utilized to raise the patient's awareness of a joint. This treatment technique provides a neurological brace to the previously injured tissues and allows for expedited tissue healing and better movement patterns.

Running Gait Evaluation

What is included: Treadmill Running Analysis, Slow Motion Data Capture, Manual Therapy Treatment, Therapeutic Exercises Prescription, Shoe/Orthotic Recommendation (as needed).2D motion analysis explaining (turn around to personal PDF - 1 week): Cadence, Pace, Strike Pattern, 2 Planes of motion (Tissue Stress / Loading Pattern, Joint Angle, 3 phase of running (Heel Strike, Mid Stance, Terminal Stance)Data Explanation (included in PDF)

Joint Manipulation

Grade V joint mobilization also referred to as manipulation is common at the spine, but can be performed at most any joint in the body. These techniques are designed to increase lost space within a joint capsule and lead to increased mobility and function. The joint is taken into a specific position where a high velocity, low amplitude thrust is performed and a cavitation (popping noise) is commonly heard.

RockBlade / Graston

At times the use of instruments can be effective in relieving compressive forces and associated pain at a joint. This use of specific tools designed to mobilize the diagnosed soft tissue impairments is referred to as assisted soft tissue mobilization.

Reflexive Performance Reset

Compensation patterns are the main cause of non contact injuries in sport as well as every day aches and pains that limit performance. Using the RPR® wake up drills™, you can shift your own body out of these patterns and reduce pain, increase flexibility and help your body become more resilient to injury.
